Wood County Sheriff’s Report
March 13
Deputy Pollard, dog bite, Winnsboro ER; FedEx driver advised while attempting to deliver package she was bitten by dog, dog owner could not provide vaccine records, citation issued, dog quarantined.
Deputy Cato, scam; victim advised while on Facebook, observed ad for his land, will forward ad to deputy to complete incident report.
Deputy Rich, assault, CR 2332; victim’s wife assaulted him after he told her she could not drive his vehicle, deputy observed injury to side of victim’s face, did not wish to pursue charges.
March 14
Sgt. Morrison, Deputy Pollard, disturbance, FM 2088; wife advised she and husband got into argument, he struck her, deputies spoke with witnesses, learned wife was aggressor. Due to wife’s medical issues, she was not arrested, offense report completed.
Investigator Perkins, Cpl. Croney, agency assist, Hwy. 80. CPS conducted home visit, due to poor living conditions, they were removing children.
Cpl. Burdick, theft; victim had horse listed for sale, while the buyer was en route, he changed his mind, victim believes buyer stole the horse.
March 15
Deputy Skinner, fraud; caller advised someone cashed large check from her account, deputies attempted to reach bank, Longview PD obtained necessary information, report will be completed.
Deputy Way, theft, Hwy. 80; victim had vehicle on car dolly, both stolen, provided vehicle information, entered as stolen.
Deputy Comeaux, disturbance, Private Road 8670; male advised asked wife for keys so he could leave, she would not give them back, wife advised husband never asked for keys, parties separated prior to deputy’s departure.
March 16
Deputy Nichols, animal bite, Quitman ER; victim delivering mail, bitten by dog at residence, victim received vaccine records, dog quarantined.
Deputy Haley, criminal mischief, FM 2869; victim’s mother poured bleach on kid’s clothes, suspect not present, offense report completed.
Deputy Comeaux, disturbance, Private Road 5679; caller’s husband who she is divorcing would not let her in residence to get items, husband was advised he cannot deny her entry into residence, parties advised of options.
Sgt. Cox, Deputy Skinner, suicidal subject; female told multiple people she had plans for self-harm, deputies able to get subject to go with EMS for treatment.
March 17
Cpl. Rapp, theft, CR 2610; someone stole vehicle during night, went through other ones on property, vehicle entered as stolen.
Deputy Comeaux, disturbance, Hwy. 37; two females were in physical altercation on side of road, both parties had left scene.
Sgt. Mayer, Deputy Way, runaway juvenile; caller’s child took vehicle, left residence, juvenile brought vehicle back, fled into woods, child entered as runaway, juvenile probation contacted.
March 18
Deputy Pollard, traffic stop, FM 69, deputy nearly ran off roadway by vehicle, attempted to pull over vehicle for several miles. After vehicle stopped, it was apparent due to driver’s age he did not need to be driving. Family members picked up subject, carried him home.
Cpl. Croney, animal complaint, Private Road 8574; caller advised neighbor’s dog was supposed to be quarantined, saw it roaming around, dog owner stated it snuck out of residence for a while, issued citation for failure to quarantine.
Cpl. Croney, criminal mischief; caller stated daughter took vehicle without permission, crashed it. DPS took accident report, mother wished to pursue charges.
Sgt. Morrison, Cpl. Croney, physical disturbance, CR 3460; victim stated she was driving golf cart, vehicle drove by, attempted to strike her dog, driver threatened victim. Deputies contacted suspect whose story did not match, case forwarded to investigations.
Deputy Williams, burglary, Hwy. 80; someone broke into house on property that recently burned, stole several items, neighbor provided video of two suspects taking items from residence, another neighbor advised he took items because he thought house was going to be demolished, owner was not going to return, items returned to property owner.
March 19
Deputy Whisenhunt, criminal mischief; caller believes during a funeral someone damaged her vehicle, knew possible suspect, did not wish to pursue charges.
Cpl. Croney, theft, CR 2130; victim let her granddaughter borrow vehicle, keeps making excuses to not bring it back, suspect notified to bring vehicle back within 10 days.
Cpl. Burdick, Deputy Williams, disturbance, Hwy. 154; both parties stated they received unwanted contact from suspect, did not have any physical injuries, neither wished to pursue charges.
Deputy Cato, dog bite, CR 2165; caller stated son was riding bicycle when neighbor’s dog bit him, dog owner stated he would provide vaccine records, quarantine dog.
