Walter Davis Lutonsky Sr. 1932-2024

Walter Davis Lutonsky Sr., 91, of Quitman passed away Jan. 8, 2024 at his home. He was born on  April 20, 1932 in Redland to Joe Frank and Effie Martha Lutonsky and came to Quitman in 1955.

Lutonsky was a sweet potato and watermelon farmer. He served in the Army, reaching the rank of corporal. 

Walter was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Hickman Lutonsky; daughter, Patricia Kay Latham; parents; sister, Emmy Grisham; brothers, Daniel Lutonsky and Eddie Lutonsky; and sons, Tommy Hickman and Jerry Mack Hickman.

He is survived by his children, MaryAnn Kibler and husband Robert “Bob” of Quitman, and Walter Davis Lutonsky Jr. and wife Kathy of Quitman; his sister, Marie Galyean of Golden; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, 2024 at Lowe-Gardner Funerals & Cremations. Graveside services followed at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The family received friends one hour prior to the service
