Truman Douglas Savage  1936-2023

Truman Douglas Savage, 87, passed away Oct. 2, 2023. He attended Quitman High School, East Texas Teachers College and married Margaret LaRue Savage in September 1958. He also served in the Texas National Guard in the early ‘60s. Truman enjoyed playing games, conversing with friends/neighbors and family. Truman was a long-time member of Pike Baptist Church and enjoyed fellowship with his church family. He worked for Haggar Clothing Company for 25-plus years.

Truman is survived by his daughter, Julie Everett; son, Andy Savage; granddaughters, Melissa Everett and Dana Nabors; great-grandsons, Jake Nabors and Jett Miller; brother, Glenn Savage; and sister Marilyn Huff and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Wendy Savage; and parents, William and Irene Savage.

The family would like to thank the many neighbors and friends for their loving care and support during the later months of his life.  

A graveside service was held on Friday, Oct. 6, 2023 at 2 p.m. at the Pecan Gap Cemetery, 305 Mayo Street, Pecan Gap.
