Tourney raises funds for child protection board
The Wood County district attorney’s office hosted a benefit golf tournament May 10 that raised more than $8,500 for the Wood County Child Protection Board, Inc. through corporate sponsorships, participation entry fees and donations at Links at Land’s End.
The board, which began in 1998, is a non-profit organization has the mission: “To protect, assist and encourage the well being and the capacity for happiness and good citizenship to the abused, dependent and neglected children of Wood County.”
“The…board…works very hard to help protect our children, and it was our privilege to work with the board to raise money to aid in their endeavors. I am also pleased that the board received recognition from community members who will, in turn, spread the word about this worthy organization,” District Attorney Angela Albers said.
