Scott Anthony English 1969-2023

Services for Scott Anthony English, 54, of Alba were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2023 at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, with Algia Allen officiating.

Burial followed in Salem Cemetery.

Mr. English passed away Dec. 21, 2023 at his home in Alba. He was born Aug. 4, 1969 in Tyler to Kenneth and Frances Wood English. He was raised in Alba, moved to Dallas when he was 20 and moved back to Alba recently. Scott enjoyed traveling and being on the lake during holidays. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth English (April 2, 2013), and brother, Shane English (November 27, 2012).

Survivors include his mother, Frances English of Alba; nephew and niece, Isaiah English and Tagen English; and numerous other relatives and friends.

The family received friends at 1 p.m. Tuesday before the service.

Special Olympics returns in style

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Come on over to Mineola’s beautiful Historic Select Theater and hear the Lake Country Symphonic Band’s Christmasy “Everything Christmas” concert.

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
