The Rotary Club of Mineola has made a $1,000 donation to the Mineola school district to continue the Early Act First Knight program at Mineola Elementary School for the second year. Accepting are Principal Brittany Thompson, left, from Rotary President Roy Shockey, board President John Abbott and counselor Carrie Gonzalez. It is a character building program that includes the Rotary Four-Way Test: is it the truth, is it fair to all concerned, will it build goodwill and better friendships, will it be beneficial to all concerned? It teaches and trains students of all backgrounds in how to become civil, service-oriented people during their most formative years. The club also announced the formation of a Rotary Interact Club at Mineola High School.
