Quitman Garden Club not selling geraniums
The Quitman Garden Club will not hold its annual geranium sale this year.
“We know how the community looks forward to the beautiful red geraniums each spring,” said Betty Stark, club president. “Unfortunately, we are not able to have one this year.”
Schedule conflicts made it difficult to pull off an event this year, so the group decided to forgo the project and concentrate on other endeavors.
The club intends to launch some other fundraisers this year to continue the tradition of community support.
Proceeds from the sale support scholarships for Quitman ISD students and other charitable needs.
As an alternative community project to support, Stark said the Fannie Marchman Garden Club in Mineola is holding a geranium sale through March 20.
