QISD board reviews annual state report
The Quitman school board held a public hearing on the Texas Academic Performance report (TAPR) at Monday’s meeting. There was no discussion or action items.
The report for the 2022 accountability rating for the district was an A.
Quitman High School had an A accountability rating with six distinctions: academic achievement in ELA/reading, mathematics, science and social studies; Top 25% in closing the gaps; and postsecondary readiness.
Quitman Elementary School had a rating of B with three distinctions: academic achievement in mathematics; Top 25% comparative closing the gaps; and postsecondary readiness.
Quitman Junior High also recorded a B grade.
The average years of experience for teachers in the district is 11.7. The turnover rate has dropped from 30.9% in 2018-19 to 17.6% in 2021-22.
