QHS ladies shut out Harmony
The Quitman Lady Bulldogs continued to improve and posted their second shut-out in a row with a 15-0 romp over Harmony last Tuesday. Quitman had previously shut down Winona 19-0. The Lady Bulldogs pounded out 11 hits and had no errors.
Kennedi Elmore held Lady Eagles hitters to two hits while striking out six in a game cut short by the mercy rule.
Elmore and Ashley Davis each had three hits to boost the offense. Davis had two triples earning three RBI. Alexis O’Neal and Larkin Spears each added a pair of hits.
The Lady Bulldogs have put themselves in the hunt for a playoff spot in District 13-3A. Mt. Vernon, Winnsboro and Chapel Hill are in the top three spots while Quitman is alone in the fourth and final playoff spot.
After a home contest with Mt. Vernon Tuesday, the Lady Bulldogs travel to Chapel Hill Friday.
