Pair killed in rollover crash
Two Tyler residents have died as the result one-vehicle rollover Saturday afternoon.
A woman was killed and the driver was seriously injured south of Mineola after their vehicle ran off US Hwy. 69.
The driver died on Monday.
According to the Dept. of Public Safety report, Robert Guy Marino was driving northbound on Hwy. 69 near the Sabine River bridges when his back left tire suffered what was described as a separation, causing him to lose control.
The 1998 Ford Explorer veered to the right and rolled down an embankment, coming to rest on its left side in the east ditch.
Cathy Marks, 64, was pronounced at the scene by Justice of the Peace Janae Holland. Marino was taken to UT Health in Tyler.
The crash occurred about two miles south of Mineola around 1:20 p.m. and remains under investigation.
