Old line under new road collapses
City of Mineola crews have been monitoring a collapsed sewer line along E. Broad St. (Hwy. 80). The old clay line suffered the collapse over the weekend and will require emergency repairs. The city hopes to have a contractor on board within 3-4 days to begin the work. In the mean time city crews are continuing to pump out the line and keep an eye on it. The center traffic lane has been closed near Newson St. The line runs to the east from Hwy. 69 about two blocks.
