Mineola, Quitman boys claim honors

Regional finalist Mineola had a pair of seniors named to superlative positions in the District 13-3A basketball selections. The Yellowjackets added two players to first team and one to second team. Quitman had two first-teamers and a pair of second team picks.

The district Offensive Player of the Year was Mineola senior T.J. Moreland while teammate Dawson Pendergrass was named Defensive Player of the Year. Keke Martin and Braydon Alley were selected for first team honors. 

Also earning first team were Quitman seniors Brady Floyd and Levi Thompson. On the second team was Mineola’s Zay Lipscomb along with Quitman’s Landon Richey and Hunter Jacobs.

District champion Chapel Hill had Most Valuable Player Braden Buchanan and Sixth Man Adrian Ramiriez. Red Devil Coach David Schmitt was named Coach of the Year. Tyson Jenkins of Harmony was picked for Newcomer of the Year.

Winnsboro added Nico Payne and Will Wilcox on first team with Kyler Finney and Hayden Deaton on second team.
