What a fantastic afternoon on Dec. 14. It was our annual Open House and it was the best attended in many, many years. So grateful to those that attended, prepared refreshments, visited with us, and of course, we cannot forget Santa Claus’ visit.

At the meeting, board Chair Lou Steele gave a brief synopsis of the library over the past year. She noted it was doing well, holding its own, and thankfully, the air conditioners lasted another year.

Friends of the Library facilitator, Carolyn Hunziker presented the library with a check from the Friends for $3,000. That was an amazing, unexpected donation.

As the year winds down, we reflect on all that we have attempted and accomplished over the past year. In January, we will give you a run down of what happened in the library in 2023.

In the meantime, please stop by and see us. We have a variety of books, audio books and movies to help pass the time. We think we are a friendly, welcoming place and would love to see you.

Programming will be quiet these last weeks of the year because people are out preparing for family gatherings but will be back beginning Jan. 2.

The Mineola Memorial Library is a 501(c)3 non-profit and your donation may be tax-deductible. We received donations from Diane Pitkin, and the Friends of the Mineola Memorial Library and we are so happy for these donations.
