Mineola Memorial Library Notes

The last month of the year is here. Are you exhausted already? A lot happened the first weekend in December. Bake sale, snow hill downtown, Celtic Christmas Festival, League of the Arts bazaar, fun movies, train rides…it was a lot. Need to have a reason to sit still? Why not stop by the Mineola Memorial Library and check out a book or a movie? It’s OK to slow down and catch your breath.

Many thanks go to CNB Bank in Mineola for hosting a bake sale for the library. We appreciate all those who donated items to the sale and to those who purchased those items. Thank you, very much!

Our Annual Open House will be Thursday, Dec. 14 at 4 p.m. At that time, our library board chair will give a brief address about the library, and our director will give a quick summary of the year’s activities. After this, there will be refreshments throughout the library, and Santa Claus will pay a visit beginning sometime after 4:30 (he’s a very busy elf this time of year) until close to 6 p.m. Santa will be available to talk to you, take a picture or selfie with you, and read a story or two. We hope to see you during open house and any time you get a chance to visit the library.

Here’s advance notice of our holiday closings. We will be closed Dec. 23, 24 and 25 and again Dec. 30, 31 and Jan. 1.

Remember, the Mineola Memorial Library is a 501(c)3, non-profit. It is not operated by the city or the county. It is a non-profit library open to the public to inform, empower, and enrich the lives of its patrons by providing a facility with a variety of up-to-date materials and programs. Your monetary donations go directly to the library to help fulfill this mission. We truly do appreciate your donations.
