It’s that time of year when people dress up and tell ghost stories and have fun with make-believe.

We will be downtown as part of the Downtown Trick or Treat. We will set up beside the Select Theater. In order to be there, we will close at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 31. Hope to see you there!

It is also our annual pumpkin decorating contest. Voting will begin on Thursday, Oct. 26. You may vote in person or by liking a picture of your favorite pumpkin on our Facebook page.

Don’t forget to get out and vote on Nov. 7. We have a limited number of election guides with information on the 14 amendments that will be on the ballot. Stop by and take a look at one and see what you will be voting on.

Home-school Heroes is slowly gaining interest. This is a time for home-school families to spend time together and make connections. There is also a craft to complete related to the season or month. They will meet at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 3 and Nov. 17.

Last chance for Green Crafts on Thursday, Nov. 9 at 10 a.m. This is a program for adults and they will be making napkin rings. All materials are provided and the craft takes about an hour.

Youth Advisory Council will meet Tuesday, Nov. 7. To be part of this group of teens, you must put in an application with Mrs. Pam. This group has fun together and will find ways to help in the library.

Math Club will begin again on Nov. 7 at 4 p.m. This is for kindergarten to 5th grade. It is a fun way to practice math.

We continue to have Toddler Time on Tuesday mornings at 9 a.m. and Preschool Story time on Wednesday mornings at 10 a.m.

Thank you to those who have donated to the Mineola Memorial Library. The library is a 501(c)3, non-profit and your donation may be tax-deductible. We hope to begin accepting book donations in November. Watch this column and Facebook for that announcement.
