Mineola and Quitman track athletes competed in the area meet last Thursday in Winnsboro.

Those placing in the top four advance to the regional meet Friday and Saturday in Whitehouse.

Top two finishers in each event qualify for the state meet in Austn May 2.

Mineola girls were the second place team with 112 points, behind Atlanta with 173.

Those advancing to regional include the following:

4x400-meter relay - Carmen Carrasco, Olivia Hughes, Raylie Peebles, Stephanie Rojas, 1st

Raylie Peebles - 800 meters, 1st

Caroline Castleberry - 300-meter hurdles, 1st, and 100-meter hurdles, 3rd

Stephanie Rojas - 200-meter dash, 4th

Olivia Hughes - 400-meter dash, 2nd

Mahayla McMahon - high jump, 3rd

4x100-meter relay - Jaylee Nevarez, Olivia Hughes, Clara Marlow, Abbie Dobbs, 3rd

4x200-meter relay - Stephanie Rojas, Jaylee Nevarez, Abbie Dobbs, Carmen Carrasco, 2nd

Discus - Zion Olajide, 3rd

Triple jump - Abbie Dobbs, 4th

Pole vault - Milo Reed, 4th

Quitman boys were the third-place team with 76 points and had the following regional qualifiers:

Christian Plata - 3200-meter run, 3rd, and 800-meter run, 3rd

Dakota Jimenez - 800-meter run, 2nd, and 1600 meter run, 2nd

Bryson Hobbs - High jump (area champion at 6’4”) and 110-meter hurdles, 2nd

Carter Smith - Long jump, 4th, and 400-meter dash, 3rd

4x400-meter relay - Hayden Breding, Dylan Eppars, Carter Smith, Dakota Jimenez, 4th

Dylan Eppars - 400-meter dash, 4th

The following Quitman girls qualified:

Katie DeGorostiza - 3200 meters, 1st, and 1600 meters, 1st

Braleigh Wood - 800 meters, 4th

Mckenna Wood - 1600 meters, 4th

Chloe Jones - High jump, 2nd

Boys qualifying for regional from Mineola were the following:
