Merline Waldon Patterson 1941-2023

Services for Merline Waldon Patterson, 82, of Alba were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 5, 2024 at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba, with Rev. Sherrie Beazley officiating.

Interment was in Pilgrim Rest #1 Cemetery, Emory.

Mrs. Patterson passed away Dec. 31, 2023 in Mineola. She was born in Rains County to William Benjamin and Mollie Myrtle Huff Waldon. She moved to Wood County from Raytown, Mo. 15 years ago. Merline was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Bobby Waldon, Jimmy Waldon, Dalton Waldon, Walter Waldon and Harvey Waldon; and two sisters, Dorothy Waldon and Geraldine Young.

Survivors include her son, Aubrey Dean Patterson of Midland; daughter, Linda Sue Holmes of Farmersville; two sisters, Anna Kathrine Harrison of Alba and Margie Hill of Emory; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
