Margaret Yvonne “Maggie” Kinsey 1934-2023

Posted

Margaret Yvonne “Maggie” Kinsey was born in Sabetha, Kan. on Sept. 29, 1934 to Harry and Peggy Corwin, and sister Joanne.

Her early years of schooling included Roosevelt Elementary, Hamilton Jr. High and Polytechnic High School, graduating in 1952.  As a young woman, Maggie played the cello, and in the 7th grade, became the youngest to play in the Women’s Symphony Orchestra in Long Beach, Cal. Maggie went on to earn a degree from San Jose State University in 1972.

Maggie married the “love of her life,” Ronald David Kinsey on Nov. 11, 1960, and together they raised five wonderful and successful children (Mike, Debbie, Anam, David and Danica), and 10 grandchildren (Amanda, Adam, Jeremy, Wailea, Jessica, Julian, Michelle, Stephanie, Justin and Garret). Maggie, Ron and family lived in many places including New Mexico, Texas and California. But Maggie always talked about moving back to Texas. For the past year she was able to live in East Texas where she looked forward to long car rides to “enjoy the beautiful scenery” or sitting in her daughter’s house “watching the wildlife scamper in the yard.”

On Aug. 24, 2023, Maggie peacefully passed away with her daughter, Danica, and son, David, by her side.  Margaret Yvonne Kinsey will always be remembered as a loving and generous wife, mother, aunt and grandmother. We all know she is enjoying one of her final wishes of “getting to dance with Ron again.” Dance freely, rest well, and we love you very much.
