Dear editor:

On behalf of the board of directors of Mineola Caring & Sharing, I would like to thank the generous citizens, businesses, churches and organizations who have made our 40 years of helping those who are in need in our community such a successful endeavor.

This year we served 317 families for a total of 1,312 individuals. They received boxes of food depending on family size, a sack of a variety of soap products and several types of meat. Children and teens were given stockings and toys. Senior citizens enjoyed touchless thermometers, goody bags and candy. We even had pajamas for small children up to adults this year.

All of this takes a multitude of volunteers, not just in December, but all year round. We are grateful to everyone who served in someway.

Joyce Curry, president
