Letters to the editor
Dear editor:
I want to write in support of the letter by Jerry Jones about the need for an animal shelter in Wood County. This is a desperate need because of all the stray dogs and cats.
We moved to Alba area almost 20 years ago and had our first stray dog within a year. Two more arrived in the next year. All three dogs lived happy lives at our house because we had no other choice but to keep them.
Two years ago, another stray dog, a three or four-month old puppy, was dumped and has found his forever home with us. So we know first-hand the problem with stray dogs who are terrified after being dumped in a strange neighborhood.
County commissioners need to appropriate funds for a shelter and ignore the request for expensive printers and controllers from the election board.
