Quitman High School senior Emelia Sanders has been selected as the March Student of the Month by the Quitman Pilot Club. She is the daughter of Henry Sanders, Jr. and Daniela Sanders.

Sanders is Pilot girl for March
Quitman High School senior Emelia Sanders has been selected as the March Student of the Month by the Quitman Pilot Club. She is the daughter of Henry Sanders, Jr. and Daniela Sanders.
Sanders is very active at school being in the student council all four years and this year serves as president of that group. She was the secretary of student council last year. Sanders has been a four-year member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and is the executive officer this year.
Sanders was a member of the prom committee last year and has been a National Honor Society member for three years. She was class president her junior year and currently serves as treasurer for the Class of 2015.
Sanders participated in UIL editorial writing her entire high school career and was a regional qualifier her first three years, being a state alternate her sophomore year. She received the UIL Academic Achievement Award for three years.
She was a member of junior varsity basketball her freshman year and played varsity the past three years receiving all-district honorable mention honors this season. Sanders has also been a varsity cheerleader all four high school years, being varsity cheer captain her senior year. She was also named UCA All-American Cheerleader two times.
Sanders is an active member of Muddy
Creek Baptist and served as an usher at the church the past four years. She has been active in the community participating in canned food drives at the school, Christmas Sharing and Caring, Angel Tree, HOBY-Crossroads Community Services where she organized and sorted donations.
Sanders will attend Texas A&M University, College Station, and major in Management Information Systems.
