Holly Lake Church sets yearly arts, crafts sale

The annual Arts and Crafts sale at Holly Brook Baptist Church, Hawkins Oct. 21 will offer more than 40 booths of local crafters’ wares for sale in two large multipurpose buildings – the recently dedicated Community Life Center and the popular Family Life Center. The sale will open at 9 a.m. and close at 3 p.m.

Hundreds of finely handcrafted items will highlight an event that has become a seasonal favorite in the Hawkins-Holly Brook area. Artisans and crafters will feature gift, novelty and other handmade items, including home decor, seasonal gifts, jewelry, paintings, cards, holiday and seasonal wreaths and memorabilia.

The new Community Life Building, dedicated July 9, provides a display area that will accommodate many additional artists’ booths over last year’s. Snacks will be available. Admission is free, and the public is welcome to browse and shop.

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
