Holiday events this weekend in Mineola

A busy holiday weekend in Mineola kicks off Thursday with judging for the window decorating contest in the Main Street area at 6 p.m.

Friday and Saturday the Mineola League of the Arts holds its annual holiday bazaar from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 200 W. Blair St.

Saturday various stores will offer specials and treats to shoppers all day. Hayrides will be offered downtown from 1:30-4:30 p.m.

Outdoor photos can be taken with Santa from 2-4 p.m. at the Dairy Queen, with Christmas music, balloon creations and hot chocolate.

The chamber Christmas parade steps off along Hwy. 80 from east to west at 5:30. Register your parade entry.

Sunday includes the Merry Christmas Market from 1-5 p.m. at The Venues on Sycamore, 301 Sycamore St.

Due to a possible COVID-19 exposure and need for quarantining, the Lake Country Symphonic Band’s holiday concert has been cancelled.

Special Olympics returns in style

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Come on over to Mineola’s beautiful Historic Select Theater and hear the Lake Country Symphonic Band’s Christmasy “Everything Christmas” concert.

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
