Glynn Leslie Mitchell, Sr. 1932-2023

Glynn Leslie Mitchell, Sr. of Mineola passed away Sunday, July 23 at age 91.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 65 years, Emily Ruth (Vaugh); children, Nancy Lynn Cook (Jay E) and Glynn Leslie, Jr. (Muna L); grandchildren, Emily Ann Cook, Skylar Armstrong Mitchell, Sarah Ann Mitchell and Abigail Renae Mitchell; as well as numerous treasured friends.

Glynn was born in Overton, the only child of William Hampton Mitchell and Nancy Ann (Farless) Mitchell, moving to Dallas as a child. He graduated from Sunset High School in 1949 and served in the U.S. Air Force, active duty 1951-1955, inactive duty 1955-1959. He was a 32nd degree Mason, Past Worthy Patron of OES, Rotarian and involved in various civic and service organizations. He was a restaurateur, plumber, exterminator, entrepreneur, jack of all trades and will be remembered by many for his delightful demeanor and sense of humor. For the past 30 years, he was a resident of Mineola and a member of Broad Street Church of Christ.

A Celebration of Life Service was held at Broad Street Church of Christ on Saturday, July 29.
