Fun funds fire dept.
In addition to the annual fish fry, a cornhole tournament was held in downtown Alba on Saturday to raise funds for the Alba Volunter Fire Dept.
The tournament, sponsored by Nutrition on the Edge and Alba Economic Development Corp. and run by the Hunt County Baggers, saw a solid turnout for its first incarnation.
Victor Medina, who spearheaded the event, said he "didn't expect this many people, and we're already talking about another one."
After working on getting the event together for a couple of months, Medina said seeing it happening is a good feeling.
Medina wanted to thank Nutrition on the Edge, the City of Alba, J.P. Allen with the Alba Volunteer Fire Dept., Alba City Secretary Lindy McCarty and all who came out and showed their support.
