Downtown celebration to assist restaurant owner

The downtown Mineola business community will come together on Saturday to help one of its own.

Caring on Commerce will be a benefit for one of the owners of Dizzy Daqs restaurant.

Georgianna Steward, known as Gigi, was involved in a serious traffic crash on March 8, and friends and fellow Mineola downtown merchants are rallying to assist the Stewards with their medical expenses but also to try to keep their business going. Dizzy Daqs on W. Broad St. has been shuttered since the wreck.

The event is from 5-8 p.m. on W. Commerce St. and includes a dunking booth, fire truck, corn hole, music by Matt Fisher and Damon Momon and Blue Line Mobile Gellyball.

Please note this event has been moved indoors due to iompending weather, to The Line at Commerce and S. Line St.
