Darrelene Little 1942-2024

Darrelene Little, 81, of Alba, passed away in Tyler on Friday, April 5, 2024. The daughter of Elmer Hubert and Edna Mandy (Johnson) Ramsey, Darrelene was born on Nov. 28, 1942, in Sanger.

Darrelene went to school in Sanger and to Texas Women’s University in Denton to obtain her teaching certificate. She was retired from the Sanger ISD.

Darrelene married Donald Phillip Little in Sanger on June 6, 1986. After retirement, Don and Darrelene moved to Alba. She and Don were married for 37 years. They were members of the Enon Baptist Church. Darrelene and Don enjoyed traveling and time with their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Darrelene loved her family, cherished her friends, and lived life to the fullest. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Edna Ramsey, and brother and sister-in-law, Bobby C. and Ray Ann Ramsey.

Darrelene is survived by her husband, Don of Alba; daughter, Darla Gray of Dallas and son, Craig Hard and wife Ginna Matthews of Winnsboro;  grandchildren, Cherrie Hard and Colton Gray; step-daughter, Lisa Little of Frisco; and step-son, Ron Little of Bixby, Okla.; step-grandchildren, Tiffany Ditto, John, Sam and Daniel Little; great-grandchildren, Jackson, Savannah, Parker, Grant, Landry, Riggs, Lexington and Elenor;  nephew, Rex Ramsey, and wife Barbara Mauk of Pilot Point; great-nieces Amber Parker and husband, Jason, and Erin Ramsey; great-great-nephew/niece, Luke and Allie, along with numerous other friends and family. 

A visitation for Darrelene was held from 12:30-1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at the Bolivar Baptist Church. Funeral services followed at 2 p.m. Pastor Dickie Amyx officiated the services. Jack Walters, Mike Riley, Harry Michalewicz, Tom McKown, John Little and Colton Gray served as pallbearers. 

The family has requested that memorial donations be made in honor of Darrelene to the First Presbyterian Church of Tyler, c/o Lynn Odom, 230 W. Rusk St., Tyler, TX 75701.
