Blood drive May 7

The next blood drive hosted by the Quitman Rotary Club will be held at First United Methodist Church Quitman, 406 Lane St., on Tuesday, May 7 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Donations will be done inside FUMC and coordinated by Carter BloodCare.

Donors will receive a six-pack of cups.

Appointments can be made at carterbloodcare.org.

Special Olympics returns in style

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Come on over to Mineola’s beautiful Historic Select Theater and hear the Lake Country Symphonic Band’s Christmasy “Everything Christmas” concert.

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
