Barnett, Brannon the best of the Bulldogs
The Quitman High School 2021 valedictorian is 17-year-old Kaitlyn Barnett, daughter of Stephanie and Ronny Barnett. While in high school she has been involved in clubs and activities including National Honor Society (NHS), Student Council, Anchor Club, band and powerlifting.
Quitman High School 2021 salutatorian Lacy Brannon is the 18-year-old daughter of Emily Attaway and the granddaughter Jim and Sally Attaway of Quitman. She has been involved in FFA, varsity volleyball, National Honor Society, Student Council, Key Club and UIL.

Barnett, Brannon the best of the Bulldogs
The Quitman High School 2021 valedictorian is 17-year-old Kaitlyn Barnett, daughter of Stephanie and Ronny Barnett. While in high school she has been involved in clubs and activities including National Honor Society (NHS), Student Council, Anchor Club, band and powerlifting.
She serves as the senior class president and is secretary of the NHS.
Two of her proudest achievements throughout high school were serving as the QHS drum major for two years and competing at the state level in powerlifting.
She plans to attend the University of Texas at Austin and get her bachelor’s degree in business with a focus in accounting. She also hopes to become part of the UT Longhorn powerlifting team.
Quitman High School 2021 salutatorian Lacy Brannon is the 18-year-old daughter of Emily Attaway and the granddaughter Jim and Sally Attaway of Quitman. She has been involved in FFA, varsity volleyball, National Honor Society, Student Council, Key Club and UIL.
She is the National Honor Society vice president and Student Council reporter. Lucy considers her greatest accomplishment to be advancing to state in FFA leadership and career development events four times and placing in the top six three of those times.
After graduation, Lucy will attend Tyler Junior College to earn a bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene. Lucy wants thank everyone who has supported her over the last four years, and most important, she would like to thank God for his unconditional love.
