Alba-Golden tames Wildcats
Alba-Golden beat the Big Sandy Wildcats 59-38 at home last Tuesday, courtesy of a fourth-quarter Panther defensive clampdown.
Alba-Golden trailed much of the first half, pulling even at 22 apiece, then scored two buckets for a four-point halftime advantage.
The game remained competitive at 32-30 in the third, but the Panthers started to pull away shortly after.
In the final quarter, the Wildcats only scored twice, thanks in large part to the exacting half-court press Alba-Golden applied energetically and effectively, resulting in some easy buckets.
Quality interior passing, especially by Conner Gibson, helped Panther posts Gavin Dailey and Jerry Skinner score 14 and 13 points respectively. Brayden Randolph led scorers with 15.
