Richard “Ricky” Dale Deibert, 69, of Forney passed away on Jan. 4, 2023 at Baylor Scott & White Hospital, Lake Pointe. Funeral services were held on Monday, Jan. 9, 2023 at Crossroads Church in Rowlett at 10 a.m. with Pastor Jason Collins officiating. Burial followed at Caddo Mills I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Visitation was held on Sunday, Jan. 8, 2023 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.

Ricky was born Sept. 17, 1953 in Atwood, Kan. to Ralph Richard and Helen Josephine Stegeman Deibert. After graduating high school from Quitman, he attended trade school and began his lifelong passion of custom wood working. He married the love of his life, Ouida Jean Geeslin, on Oct. 10, 1981 in Dallas. Ricky was a hard worker, who loved generously and gave the best hugs. He had a smile as big as Texas and could light up the room. He overcame many obstacles in his life time and shared his testimony with anyone that would listen. If you couldn’t find him, he was probably fishing somewhere. He was a man of great faith who constantly drew his strength from the Lord and made his family his highest priority.

He is survived by his wife, Ouida Jean Deibert; mother, Helen Perry; children, Elizabeth Eubanks and husband Bobby, Andrew Christopher Richard Deibert and wife Calleen, Brittney Pryor and husband Bradley, and Brandee Deibert; siblings, Duane Deibert and wife Penny, Joleen Deibert Yeager and husband Evan, and Kevin Deibert and wife Stephanie; grandchildren, Arden, Courtland, Cyhler, Brody, Koltyn, Madisyn and Mayci; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father; sister, Lisa Marie Deibert; step-father, Wiley Perry; and step-brother, William Perry.

Pallbearers were Brody Pryor, Koltyn Gant, Courtland Deibert, Cyhler Deibert, Eddie Limon, Adam Moore, Tyler Johnson and Bill Jones. Honorary pallbearers include Arden Deibert, Madisyn Pryor and Mayci Pryor.

Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army or the Lela Stegeman Scholarship for Colby Community College.
