Quitman council approves change for water tower bid
The Quitman City Council voted Monday morning to approve a contract change order to the 50,000 gallon elevated storage tank painting contract from BRZ Coatings, Inc., of $39,800 for lead abatement.
The project to repaint the elevated storage tank near the football stadium and the interior of a ground storage tank whose recent paint job had failed was approved in November for $322,600, and the work began about three weeks ago.
It is being funded with the city’s share of federal COVID-19 relief dollars.
