Pair faces charges for bomb threat at MHS
Two Mineola teens have been arrested and charged with a terroristic threat following a bomb threat at Mineola High School last Thursday.
Larry Jaxon Holland-Lacey, 17, and Marzja Christopher Hisle, 19, were arrested on warrants last Friday on the charge of terroristic threat impairing public/government service. Bond was set at $20,000 each, and they were taken to the Wood County jail.
According to MISD Superintendent Cody Mize, the high school received a call about 10:04 a.m. of a bomb threat. Students and staff were evacuated and a search was conducted by first responders. The facilities were cleared and normal operations resumed.
The call came soon after the school’s annual Veterans Day program had been held in the gym at 9 a.m. One veteran who attended the ceremony advised the call apparently came after most of the visitors had left.
Mineola city and campus police assisted in the search along with the Mineola Fire Dept.
Holland, who had been enrolled at the school this semester, was taken into custody in Mineola at 11:37 a.m. Friday, and Hisle turned himself in to Mineola police at 1:15 p.m. Holland was released on bond Monday.
They face a charge of a third-degree felony.
