New county veterans service officer named
Christi Billman has been named the new veterans service officer for Wood County.
She is a U.S. Navy veteran and a graduate of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.

New county veterans service officer named
Christi Billman has been named the new veterans service officer for Wood County.
She is a U.S. Navy veteran and a graduate of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. She has experience in business, marketing and customer service.
Billman’s position is part-time, and she will have office hours Monday through Wednesday or by appointment.
The office is located in the Wood County Tax Assessor-Collector’s office at 301 E. Goode St. in Quitman and will move to the new tax office now under construction.
“I am excited to be able to help my community by serving our veterans and their families,” she said. “Having served in the military, I can relate to the challenges facing our veterans and their families and am committed to helping them.”
Her family has been in northeast Texas since 1981, and she and her husband, Michael, live in Quitman. He is also a U.S. Navy veteran.
Her duties include advising veterans and families about VA benefits as well as educational, loans, housing, burials and other benefits.
