Man dies in crash with garbage truck

A Winnsboro man died when his pickup plowed into the back of a Republic Services trash truck in Mineola Tuesday, Feb. 14 shortly after 3 p.m. in the 700 block of S. Pacific St.

A Winnsboro man died when his pickup plowed into the back of a Republic Services trash truck in Mineola Tuesday, Feb. 14 shortly after 3 p.m. in the 700 block of S. Pacific St.
Burke Bullock, 82, was northbound on Pacific in the right lane when the crash occurred. He died at the scene.
Two trash truck crew members were uninjured.
Bullock was a well-known retired ag teacher in Winnsboro who served as a Hopkins County commissioner and for many years on the board of Wood County Electric Co-op.
His service was held Tuesday at Pine Street Baptist Church in Winnsboro.
