Jury issues not guilty verdict, pleas heard

A Hawkins woman was acquitted on a drug charge by a Wood County jury Wednesday, Jan. 11.

Courtney Diana Bridges was charged with possession of a controlled substance penalty group one less than one gram, a state jail felony. She was arrested on April 14, 2021 by Mineola police following a traffic stop and indicted May 26, 2021.

The jury was seated in 402nd District Court on Monday, Jan. 9 and delivered the not guilty verdict on the 11th.

The following guilty pleas were heard in district court Thursday, Jan. 12:

Cody Ryan Calder, Yantis, assault bodily injury-family violence/dating relationship impeding breathing/circulation, third degree felony, three years in state prison with 247 days credit for time served, plus $355 court costs.

Karen Jan Charlton, Mineola, possession of a controlled substance penalty group one (PG1) one gram or more but less than four (two counts), third degree felony, deferred adjudication, five years community supervision with 160 hours community service plus $290 court costs.

Austin Allen Rice, Lindale, possession of a controlled substance PG1 less than one gram, state jail felony, six months in state jail with 80 days credit for time served plus $1,000 fine and $290 court costs.

Jaeden Devin Whitworth, Winnsboro, possession of a controlled substance PG1 less than one gram, state jail felony, 18 months in state jail with 522 days credit for time served plus $1,000 fine and $290 court costs.

Jennifer Michelle Hunt, Quitman, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, second degree felony, deferred adjudication, four years community supervision with 240 hours community service plus $2,000 fine and $290 court costs.

Bobby Dale Bragg, Emory, manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance PG1 for grams or more but less than 200, first degree felony, deferred adjudication, eight years community supervision with 320 hours community service plus $3,000 fine and $290 court costs.

Janice Delene Golightly, Quitman, possession of a controlled substance PG1 less than one gram, state jail felony, two years in state prison suspended for three years community supervision with 120 hours community service plus $1,000 fine and $290 court costs.

Kattie Lanette McKeithen, Pickton, possession of a controlled substance PG1 less than one gram, state jail felony, deferred adjudication, four years community supervision with 120 hours community service plan $2,000 fine and $355 court costs.

Tony Lashun Reeves, Quitman, deadly conduct-discharge firearm, third degree felony, deferred adjudication, four years community supervision plus $2,000 fine and $290 court costs.

Jacob Scott Jones, Riverside, Cal., assault causes bodily injury, Class A misdemeanor, two days in county jail plus $1,000 fine and $290 court costs.

Chasity Dennise Hill, Mineola, theft of property over $2,500 and less than $30,000, state jail felony, two years in state jail suspended for five years community supervision with 120 hours community service plus $2,500 fine and $290 court costs.

Gary Lee Albright, Killeen, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, second degree felony, deferred adjudication, ten years community supervision plus $1,500 fine and $290 court costs.
