Donations sought for veterans’ wreaths
Roselawn Cemetery north of Mineola will once again be the site of the placement of Christmas wreaths on the graves of almost 800 veterans buried there.
Following a brief ceremony at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, volunteers will fan out to place the green wreaths with red bows provided by the Wreaths Across America project through donations.
Some of the volunteers will be placing wreaths on specific graves of loved ones or friends.
Wreaths may be purchased for the Mineola location on the Wreaths Across America website at wreathsacrossamerica.org/TX1102P, or scan the QR code.
The effort is being led locally by the Wood County Marine Corps League LCpl Shane L. Goldman Detachment #1278.
