“Robin Visits School: Burt Ward visited with the upper elementary and junior high students October 16 at the high school auditorium. He stars as Robin on the comic show Batman.

Mr. Ward came to speak on bicycle safety. He talked on the importance of bicycle safety. He demonstrated hand signals to do when riding.

All the students seemed to enjoy Robin. They had a number of questions, not so much on bicycle safety, but on how Robin solved so many crimes. There were such questions as, ‘What kind of gas is used in the Batmobile,’ and ‘How did you and Batman get so many computers?’ This kind of questions made up most of the discussion part of his talk.

Burt Ward appeared at the Ben Franklin store in Mineola Thursday evening and night. He put a little more gas on the fire by telling all the kids that the Joker is lost in this area and he might have to fight with him. All in all he put on a great, enjoyable program for the upper elementary and junior high classes.”
