“The most important oil find of the year in Wood County appeared assured on Thursday morning near Pine Mills after a drill stem test recovered 4000 feet of oil with no water in fifteen minutes.”
“The Defense Department reported Wood County’s fourth fatality in the Korean War Tuesday.”
“Whereas the freedom bell will ring out its message of world freedom and friendship from Berlin, Germany, in the shadow of the Iron Curtain, at exactly 1:03 central standard time, I, Mayor Miles Caudle, do hereby ask that at exactly 1:03 (Mineola time) on next Tuesday that all city department, schools, churches, and other organizations use the bells at their disposal for a period of five minutes, while the World Freedom Bell rings… When you hear the playing of the chimes that will be the time for unified effort in prayer for the freedom of the world.”
