Wood County Sheriff's Report
Aug. 5
Deputy Way took a violation of a court order report by phone. The caller advised her ex-husband showed up on the property and has an active protective order against her. The caller took a photo of the subject and an offense report was completed.
Lt Morrison, Sgt Cox and Deputy Way responded to found property on FM 312. A stolen motorcycle was located on the property and recovered. The motorcycle was removed as stolen.
Deputy Williams and Deputy Knox responded to a disturbance on FM 515. After further investigation, neither party wished to pursue charges. CPS was contacted due to children being present during the disturbance.
Aug. 6
Deputy Smith responded to found property at Mineola PD. The caller advised he located a firearm in the roadway on Hwy 37. The firearm was returned to the Sheriff's Office for safekeeping.
Deputy Smith took an assault report in the lobby. The caller advised he was assaulted by his girlfriend at a concert and she caused damage to his truck. A report was completed.
Sgt Cox and Deputy Way responded to a disturbance on Hwy 154. The caller advised two male subjects were fighting at the park and requested both subjects be trespassed from the property. Brandon Henderson was arrested for assault by contact.
Lt Morrison, Deputy Williams and Deputy Knox responded to a disturbance in Yantis. The suspect fled before deputies arrived but was later located in town. Devan Munoz was arrested for assault-family violence, assault with previous convictions and possession of a controlled substance.
Deputy Williams, Deputy Haney and Deputy Netherland responded to a disturbance on County Road 2375. After further investigation, it was determined the male subject assaulted his mother and prevented her from calling 911. Michael Green was arrested for assault-family violence with previous convictions and interference with an emergency call.
Aug. 7
Deputy Swann and Deputy Hammond responded to a disturbance. The caller advised her boyfriend became aggressive and damaged her vehicle during the argument. An offense report was completed.
Sgt Williams responded to a criminal trespass on County Road 4116. The caller advised he wanted his neighbor trespassed from his property. A trespass warning was issued.
Deputies responded to a criminal trespass on Hwy 154. The store owner advised they wanted a customer trespassed from the property. The subject fled before deputies arrived.
Aug. 8
Sgt Williams and Deputy Hammond responded to a shots fired call on FM 312. The caller advised a male subject shot himself in the leg while mowing. The subject was located and transported to receive treatment.
Deputy Whisenhunt responded to property damage on County Road 2168. The caller advised his wife punctured one of his tires. The caller was informed it was a civil issue.
Deputies assisted Mineola PD with a large fight involving multiple subjects. Deputies provided assistance at the scene.
Aug. 9
Deputies responded to an online solicitation of a minor. Michael Mathews was arrested for online solicitation of a minor and possession or promotion of child pornography.
Deputy Nichols responded to a dog bite at the Quitman ER. The victim advised he was at a friend's house when the dog became excited and bit him on the leg.
Aug. 10
Sgt Cox performed a warrant service at Adult Probation. Brandon Elmore was arrested on an active warrant.
Deputy Swann responded to a suspicious person at Lake Holbrook. Upon arrival, deputies located a male subject hiding in a nearby wooded area. After further investigation, it was determined the subject had an active trespass warning from the property. Daniel West was arrested for criminal trespass.
Sgt Cox and Deputy Way responded to a suspicious person on Private Road 5184. The caller advised it appeared someone was living in a storage unit without paying for it. Contact was made with the unit owner, who advised no one had permission to live in the storage unit. The subject was issued a trespass warning.
Deputy Haney and Deputy Netherland responded to a juvenile call. After further investigation, it was determined the juvenile struck their mother while in a vehicle. An offense report was completed.
Deputy Haney and Deputy Netherland responded to a vehicle-pedestrian incident in Holiday Village. The victim advised they were struck by a vehicle and wished to pursue charges. The case will be forwarded to investigations for review.
Aug. 11
Sgt Cox and Deputy Way responded to a criminal trespass on Private Road 5184. The store owner advised the male subject who had been trespassed was back on the property. Contact was made with the subject, who advised he was attempting to retrieve his property. The property was given to the subject and he was informed he would be arrested if he returned.
Deputy Williams and Deputy Knox responded to a disturbance in Hawkins. Two male subjects were involved in a physical altercation at a restaurant. Neither party wanted EMS or wished to pursue charges.
