Wood County Sheriff’s Report
April 1
Agency assist, Holly Lake Ranch. Adult Protective Services advised a person met criteria to be removed from residence. Deputies transported subject to receive treatment.
Deputy Williams, Deputy Tustin, mental health incident, Yantis. Subject transported to receive treatment.
Deputy Williams, Deputy Tustin, agency assist, CR 1326. Assisted EMS with patient while en route to hospital, later pronounced deceased at hospital.
April 2
Deputy Knox, Deputy Swann, disturbance, Hawkins. Ssuspect Venicia Massenburge arrested for assault family violence.
Missing juvenile, CR 3270. Assisted neighbors searching for child, located and returned to parents.
Deputy Tustin, traffic stop, FM 515. Clyer Campbell arrested for DWI.
Deputy Williams, Deputy Tustin, contacted female subject in Winnsboro. Found to have active warrant out of Hopkins County, transported to county line to be picked up by Hopkins County.
April 3
Deputy Smith, traffic stop, Mineola. Driver gave consent to search, syringe located, tested positive for meth. Amy Duroux arrested for possession of controlled substance.
Deputy Way spoke to nurse in Tyler who had patient that had been struck by golf cart, in critical condition. Victim’s partner struck him when he jumped out in front of her, did not call for medical assistance all night, case forwarded to investigations.
Sgt. Rich, Deputy Gloar, Deputy Vanatta, road range, Hwy.154. Caller chased to Sun Eagle Bay, vehicle occupant then fired at them, shooter left prior to deputies’ arrival. Jefferey Stephens arrested for DWI 3rd or more, offense report completed.
April 4
Sgt. Williams located two missing juveniles out of Smith County in Hawkins. Transported back to Smith County.
Deputy Way, criminal trespass, CR 1987. Property manager requested subject trespassed who was brought on property by another tenant, subject issued a criminal trespass warning.
April 5
Deputy Whisenhunt, damage to property, CR 3840. Caller observed front door to residence open, items missing from residence, offense report completed.
Deputy Vanatta, burglary of vehicle, Hawkins. Victim’s wallet stolen from vehicle, report completed.
Sgt. Rich, Deputy Vanatta, disturbance, Hawkins. Caller and girlfriend got into argument that became physical, girlfriend fled scene prior to deputies’ arrival, caller did not wish to pursue charges.
April 6
Deputy Swann, assault, Hawkins. Victim assaulted by male when he slapped eggs out of her hands, they struck her in face, caller wished to file for protective order.
Sgt. Cox, structure fire, FM 2966. Fire already put out by fire department, home owner did not know how fire started, fire marshal notified.
Welfare concern, CR 4290. Caller broke up with girlfriend, concerned because she still has her gun. Deputies located subject deceased in her vehicle with apparent gun shot wound. Criminal Investigations Division notified.
April 7
Deputy Swann, agency assist, Hawkins. Bossier City PD advised of stolen item at store in Hawkins, would like deputy to recover it, towed from property to be retrieved by Bossier City PD.
Deputy Knox, theft report. Caller missing multiple gun safes from storage building, possible suspect provided, case forwarded to investigations.
Deputies performed warrant service, CR 2312. August Cathcart arrested on active warrant.
