March 18
Deputy Haley, warrant service, Adult Probation. Kyle Dodds arrested on active warrant.
Sgt. Cox, warrant, Adult Probation. James Collins arrested on active warrants.
Deputy Tustin, mental health incident, CR 2249. Wife, husband both having mental episode issues. Female transported by EMS to receive treatment.
March 19
Deputy Swann, request to speak by phone. Caller said student at school stated both parents slapped her several times at residence. CPS contacted, case will be forwarded to investigations.
Deputy Williams, Deputy Tustin, mental health incident, Hawkins. Caller said daughter having mental health episode. Female transported by EMS to receive treatment.
Lt. Morrison, Deputy Haney, Deputy Nichols, suicidal subject, CR 3880. Upon arrival, deputies located a deceased male subject. CID was notified.
March 20
Sgt. Williams, Deputy Hammond, traffic stop, Quitman. Driver observed committing traffic violations, traffic stop conducted, did not have driver’s license, illegally in possession of firearm, taken into custody.
Deputy Way, disturbance, Hwy. 37. No offense occurred. Jennie Fincher found intoxicated walking down roadway near residence, arrested for public intoxication.
March 21
Sgt. Williams, Deputy Smith, Deputy Hammond, disturbance, Hwy. 37. Deputies learned victim had been assaulted 45 minutes prior to calling in active assault; offense report completed, case will be forwarded to investigations.
Sgt. Williams, Deputy Hammond, theft, Hwy. 37. Caller said two subjects stole items, offense report completed.
Deputy Smith, Deputy Way, disturbance, FM 1647. Both parties having garage sale when verbal disturbance began. Upon deputies’ arrival, all parties had separated. Neither wished to pursue charges.
March 22
Sgt. Williams, Deputy Smith, disturbance, PR 8573. Video footage showed suspect at mother’s door, threatening. John Ownes arrested for assault by threat.
Deputy Gloar, criminal trespass, Yantis. Manager said customer in store who had been told not to come back as she had stolen items. Subject issued trespass warning.
Deputy Gloar, suspicious vehicle, FM 2088. Caller said dark car pulled into driveway, relocated down the road, stayed there. Unable to locate vehicle in area.
March 23
Deputy Haley, assault report by phone. Victim said while attending event, subject slapped her. Case will be forwarded to investigations.
Sgt. Cox, structure fire, Yantis. Property owner said male subject comes over, takes items out of barn when she’s not home, neighbor advised saw subject morning of fire. Fire marshal notified.
Deputy Nichols, Deputy Whisenhunt, overdose, PR 6305. Both parents told juvenile had THC vape, parents wanted to pursue charges. Juvenile Probation contacted.
March 24
Deputy Haley, burglary, FM 49. Caller said items stolen. Offense report completed, items entered as stolen.
Sgt. Cox, Deputy Knox, fire, Yantis. Deputies dispatched to structure fire previous day, caller said suspect back, started fire again. Deputies located subject, said property belonged to his cousin and they had agreement to burn remnants of barn. Resident on property wished to have subject removed.
