Deputy LaDawn McGee took a report of identity theft. The party stated she received an email from a loan company that her payment was due. The victim stated she does not have a loan with this company.

Deputy Michael Allison was dispatched to FM 1804 for a suspicious vehicle. Reports stated a vehicle was sitting in the ditch flashing a light at passing vehicles. Allison made contact with the occupants, both juveniles. They advised they were looking for the brother of one of the occupants but ran out of gas. The owner of the vehicle was contacted, and she stated she had not given them permission to drive the vehicle. The juveniles were taken to the sheriff’s office to be picked up by their legal guardians.

July 30

Deputy Jonah Croney took a suspicious circumstance report on Hwy. 154. The party stated he noticed things had been disturbed in an outbuilding on his property. He did not believe anything was missing but would contact Croney if he found out otherwise.

Deputy Jim Rapp reported to the lobby of the sheriff’s office for a harassment complaint. The party stated she is being harassed by her ex-husband. She provided text messages to Rapp. The case will be forwarded to the Criminal Investigation Division (CID).

Deputy John Cooper took a phone report from an individual reporting theft of firearms. The party stated he last saw the firearms in April. He is unsure who would have stolen them. The individual stated he did not wish to pursue charges.

Deputy Rapp was dispatched to Sundance Path for a report of criminal mischief. The party stated her son’s girlfriend was mad at him and knocked out five windows of her house. The party stated she is in the process of getting an estimate for repair of the windows.

July 31

Deputy Linda Williams was dispatched to Christus Mother Frances Hospital ER for a dog bite. The victim stated she was brushing her dog when it bit her on the cheek. She stated the dog is normally fine with being brushed and had never bitten anyone. The dog was required to be quarantined for 10 days away from other animals and is up to date on its vaccinations.

Deputy Jaclyn Skinner and Sgt. Austin Milbourn responded to Hwy. 69 for a disturbance. The party did not wish to speak with deputies once they arrived. She stated she was in a disagreement with the father of her child. She said she would be staying with a friend until things could be resolved.

Deputy Croney went to Geronimo for a disturbance in progress. Sgt. Milbourn also responded. They met with a witness who stated two individuals were at the pool, intoxicated. One of the individuals was nude and refused to clothe herself. The other person attempted to get her into a vehicle to leave the location, and the female began assaulting him. Deputies were able to locate the parties at their residence. Cortney Elizabeth Campbell, of Quitman was arrested for assault by contact family/household member/dating relationship.

Deputy Andrew Morrison responded to CR 1750 for a disturbance. The party stated her ex-boyfriend was causing a verbal altercation. When the party tried to call 911, her phone died. Her ex-boyfriend took the phone and threw it at the windshield of her vehicle, causing damage to the windshield and the phone. The suspect had left the scene prior to officer arrival. The case will be forwarded to CID.

Sgt. Milbourn and Deputy Corbin Hanner were sent to the CR 1886 boat ramp for deadly conduct. The parties advised they were fishing on Lake Fork when an ATV came toward them and pointed guns at them. Deputies were able to locate the individuals, who still had the firearms with them. Both individuals were intoxicated. Paul Joey Jackman, 42, of Denton was arrested for deadly conduct and failure to identify/refuse to provide identification. Robert Keith Williams, 56, of Yantis was arrested for deadly conduct.

Deputy Cooper took a criminal mischief report in the lobby of the sheriff’s office. The party stated her car was damaged by her ex-boyfriend. The case will be forwarded to CID once an estimate is received from the victim.

August 1

Deputy Croney responded to FM 14 for a disturbance. He met with an individual who stated the actor left the location. Deputy Morrison searched the area for the actor while Croney spoke with other involved parties. It was found that they had an argument, and property was damaged by both individuals. Christopher Allen Winkle, 31, of Quitman, was arrested for assault by contact family/household member/dating relationship.

Deputy Rapp was dispatched to CR 2701 for a report of a suspicious circumstance. Rapp found writing on the access to the railroad. The writing read “watch your mouth.”  Photographs were taken and a case will be forwarded to CID.

Deputy Cooper was sent to CR 2249 for damaged property. Cooper met with the party who stated a vehicle appeared to have struck a parked vehicle in his driveway. A license plate was found near the point of impact. The case will be forwarded to CID.

Deputy Williams took a theft report from CR 4854. The party noticed a kayak missing. He was able to provide security footage of someone stealing the kayak. The case will be forwarded to CID.

Deputy Williams responded to FM 2088 for damaged property. The party stated someone hit his fence and gate with a vehicle. Further investigation to follow.

Deputy Williams was dispatched to CR 1550 for a welfare check. It was found the homeowner was deceased. The funeral home was contacted and took possession of the body.

August 2

Deputy Cole Hudson conducted a traffic stop on CR 2647. The vehicle’s license plate was obscured with a t-shirt. Deputy Hudson knew the driver from previous dealings and requested consent to search his vehicle. The driver admitted to having illegal narcotics in his vehicle. James Edward Murray, 40, of Lindale was arrested for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than one gram.

August 3

Deputy Michael Allison responded to FM 2869 for a theft. The party advised a tool was stolen from their front yard. They were able to give information regarding a suspect. The case was forwarded to CID.

Deputy McGee went to CR 4430 for criminal mischief. The party stated someone did doughnuts in her yard and kicked in her front door. She was able to identify the suspect. The report will be forwarded to CID.

Deputy Allison took a theft report on FM 1795. The party stated a kayak was stolen from his property. The case will be forwarded to CID.
