Deputy Linda Williams met with a complainant in the lobby of the sheriff’s office regarding an assault.  The victim stated she was home when she and her husband got into a disturbance. The husband came up behind the victim and put her in a choke hold. She was able to get out of the hold, and he put her in a choke hold again and held on to her until family members came in and got her away from him. The case was forwarded to CID as the suspect left prior to reporting of the incident.

Deputy McKenzie Chandler was dispatched to CR 3802 for a theft call. The victim reported someone took all the rims off his camper trailer. The case will be forwarded to CID for further investigation.

Deputy Chandler responded to FM 2869 for a reported dog bite. The victim stated she stopped at a garage sale, and while looking around, was bitten by one of the dogs at the location. The dog was ordered to quarantine at a veterinary office for 10 days due to rabies protocol.  

Deputy Cole Hudson met with a complainant at the sheriff’s office regarding a scam. The complainant had a litter of puppies listed on the internet. Someone made contact with her stating she would like to purchase one of the puppies. The purchaser said she messed up on the cashier’s check and would go ahead and send it. The reporting party was suspicious of the situation and brought the check to the sheriff’s office, which confirmed it was a scam.

Sgt. Heather Bailey responded to Hwy. 154 West regarding a theft. She met with the victim who told her a package was reported to have been delivered to her place of business, but she has not received it. An incident report will be filed for documentation.

Deputy Brad Cox was sent to a disturbance on CR 3540. The reporting party told Deputy Cox she made an agreement to rent a trailer to an individual for a set amount of money. She said the day after the tenant moved in, she decided she did not like the terms of the arrangement and wanted to change things. The landlord told her things would not be changed and that if she did not like the arrangements, she would need to go ahead and move. At this point, the tenant grabbed the landlord by the hair and began punching her in the head and face several times. A witness nearby saw the altercation and made an attempt to break up the fight. The case was forwarded to CID, as the victim wished to press charges against the assailant.

Deputy Bonnie Sepulvado was notified of a request to speak in the lobby of the sheriff’s office. Upon making contact with the reporting party, she was informed that she wanted her step-son’s property removed from her property and a criminal trespass warning issued. A criminal trespass warning was issued to the step-son, and he was explained that he could not go back to the property for any reason.

June 4

Deputy Dustin Green was performing routine patrol on FM 2869 when a vehicle passed him, pulling a trailer. The trailer did not have a license plate. The driver advised he had outstanding warrants from out of state. Consent to search the vehicle was granted, and syringes were located in the vehicle. One of the vehicles contained a dark liquid inside. The driver admitted the liquid was methamphetamine. Travis Means, 20, of Grand Saline was arrested for possession of a controlled substance PG 1 less than one gram.

June 5

Deputy Green and Sgt. Jeremy Smith were dispatched to PR 7631 for a suicidal subject. The deputies spoke with two individuals, who stated they were in a relationship, but it was ending. One of the subjects wanted the other to leave the location, but he was refusing to do so. During the verbal altercation, one subject pushed the other. Zadarian Lemons, 18, of Big Sandy was arrested for assault causes bodily injury family violence.

Deputy Jon Ritterbach responded to CR 4568 in reference to a disturbance. The reporting party stated his girlfriend and he had been in a verbal altercation. The girlfriend hit the reporting party, and he hit her back. Due to involved parties not being present, the case was forwarded to CID for further investigation.

June 6

Deputy Green was sent to CR 3520 in reference to a theft.  The reporting party stated his son was out of town, and he was checking on the property. He noticed a trailer full of metal pipe fencing was missing.  He also observed the front door of the barn had been breached. Numerous items were missing from inside the barn. The case was forwarded to CID.

Deputy Jonah Croney was dispatched to PR 7835 for a suspicious circumstance. Croney met with an individual, who was found to be wanted out of another county. Jade Lynelle Shaddock, 36, of Longview was arrested on these warrants. Once they arrived at the jail, Jade was found to be in possession of methamphetamines and marijuana.

Deputy Jon Ritterbach and Sgt. Austin Milbourn were notified of a 911 call received from a juvenile subject who stated his parents were fighting. They responded to CR 1670, where the juvenile’s mother confirmed that she was in a physical altercation with her husband. Bernard Randolph Barnett, 47, of Kaufman was arrested for assault by threat.

Deputy Andrew Rapp was dispatched to CR 2167 in reference to someone attempting to break into a residence. While in route to the location, Deputy Rapp located someone matching the description of the suspect. While speaking with the subject, Deputy Rapp observed the individual to be intoxicated and a danger to himself. Nathan Clanton, 20, of Quitman was arrested for public Intoxication.

Deputy Ritterbach was informed by dispatcher someone had called in to report his girlfriend was in possession of a knife and slashed his tires. The girlfriend stated she was mad at him, and while they were arguing, he put his arm around her neck. Due to neither party wishing to press charges, an incident report was filed.

Deputy Rapp was dispatched to Lake Holbrook for an assault. The victim advised her family was at the lake when an individual pulled up and began to cause a disturbance. The victim asked the man to please watch his language as there were children around. The man shoved her backward. He then started to come after her again, so she jumped in the lake. The man was not located at the time, and the case was forwarded to CID.

June 7

Deputy Andrew Morrison was dispatched to CR 4641 for a dog bite. He met with the victim, who had a bandage on her right bicep and bruising near her armpit. She stated she was bitten by the neighbor’s dog. The dog’s owner stated once she saw the dog bite her neighbor, she beat the dog, and it ran off.  Morrison told the dog’s owner that it would need to be quarantined at a veterinarian’s office.

Deputy Amanda Dollison worked a case regarding a sex offender failing to comply with sex offender registration requirements. Shelly McBride, 58, of Hawkins was arrested for sex offenders duty to register life/annually.

Sgt. Austin Milbourn was notified of a disturbance on CR 1475. Milbourn met with the victim of an assault. She stated her boyfriend was passed out, and when he came too, he was angry and choked her.  The case was forwarded to CID for further investigation due to the actor leaving the scene prior to deputy arriving.

Deputy Rapp responded to CR 2700 in reference to an inquest. The death appeared to be of natural causes.

Deputy Brad Cox was dispatched to CR 4700 in reference to property damage. The reporting party stated there was an 18-wheeler at the location that had caused damage to his driveway and fence and was blocking the driveway. The report was for documentation only.

June 8

Deputy Corbin Hanner made contact with an individual regarding a terroristic threat on CR 2782. The individual reported his brother making threats against various members of his family. A report will be forwarded to CID for further investigation.
