UIL reports enrollment numbers for next realignment
Enrollment numbers that will impact realignment for Texas high schools February were released by the University Interscholastic League, and most Wood County schools will not be impacted.
All but Mineola High School reported lower numbers that the last realignment in 2024.
Mineola gained 3.5 students to 483, which will still remain squarely in Conference 3A, Division 1 for sports and other extracurricular activities.
That cutoff was 544 the last go around and rose to 549, with the split between Division 1 and Division 2 at 367.
That leaves Quitman in Division 2, reporting 344 high school students, down eight from the last cycle. That cut off was 369 the last time.
Alba-Golden remains in Conference 2A Division 1 with a reported 241 students, a drop of six since 2023. That top number was 253 that last go-round and fell to 246.
Hawkins will also be in that classification with 229 students, down five.
Winnsboro dropped from 496 to 431 and remains in the same conference and division as Mineola.
Yantis, with 91 students, saw a drop of 15 and falls back into the lowest classification, 1A, with less than 105 students.
