Summer Reading 2026 “Unearth a Story” programming, designed for ages Pre-K to 10 years, is in the final week. On June 24 at 1 p.m., it’s “Dinosaur Movie Time!” with free popcorn, candy and drinks, so bring your blanket and pillow or favorite chair. June 26 is the grand finale with a special performance by Joe McDermott at 1 p.m. Joe is known for creating music for the Berenstain Bears stories and for winning multiple Parents’ Choice Awards. His performance is sponsored by the Texas Commission on the Arts.
Liberty Fest, celebrating America’s 250th birthday, takes place July 4 at Gov. Jim Hogg City Park, so stop by the Quitman Public Library’s booth for family fun beginning at 9 a.m.
