Liberty Fest is coming to Quitman on Saturday, July 4, bringing a full morning of patriotic celebration, family activities, and community spirit to Governor Jim Hogg City Park as the nation commemorates America’s 250th anniversary.
Hosted by the Quitman Chamber of Commerce, Liberty Fest will begin at 7:00 AM with the Liberty 5K, followed by the Fun Run at 7:30 AM and activities in the park beginning at 8:00 AM. The Lake Country Classic Car Club Car Show will be held from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A patriotic ceremony featuring the Presentation of the Colors and the National Anthem will be held at 9:00 AM. The Liberty Fest Hot Dog Eating Contest will begin at 10:30 AM, followed by family-friendly field games at 11:30 AM. Festivities will conclude at 1:30 PM.
Attendees can enjoy vendors, food trucks, a car show, field games, a hot dog eating contest, a photo booth, community booths, a bounce house, an obstacle course, yard games, and other activities throughout the event.
The Quitman Chamber is currently seeking race participants, vendors, food trucks, volunteers, and community organizations interested in participating in the event.
“Liberty Fest is something we are incredibly excited about bringing to Quitman,” said Megan Whitworth, Executive Director of the Quitman Chamber. “We wanted to create an event that celebrates community, patriotism, and togetherness while also establishing a new tradition for families to enjoy each year. We encourage everyone to come be part of the inaugural event, whether that’s through running, volunteering, sponsoring, or simply joining us for the celebration.”
Registration for the Liberty 5K, Fun Run, and Hot Dog Eating Contest is now open.
