Quitman Bulldogs lose to Edgewood Bulldogs
The Quitman Bulldogs faced a challenging matchup at home Friday night, falling to the Edgewood Bulldogs 56-13.
Edgewood came out strong, racing to an 8-0 lead just minutes into the first quarter. Their defensive pressure proved too difficult for the Bulldogs, as Quitman was held scoreless in the first quarter while Edgewood built a 16-point advantage.
The second quarter brought a spark for Quitman, when Lucas Sandifer knocked down a 3-pointer midway through the quarter. Logan Davis added another 3-pointer, and Klayton Meadows scored from the free-throw line.
Despite their offensive efforts, the Bulldogs trailed 33-7 at halftime. However, Quitman opened the second half with renewed energy, continuing to hustle on both ends of the floor.
Foul trouble and Edgewood’s consistency limited Quitman to a solitary score from Logan Davis in the third quarter. Davis and Meadows each found the net during the last quarter and continued to compete until the final buzzer.
