Quitman agrees for county to collect its property taxes
Quitman’s City Council meeting went off without a hitch Thursday night. City Administrator Allan Gilbert said all members were present, and the only item on the agenda – an interlocal cooperation agreement for ad valorem tax collection with Wood County – was approved unanimously. No one signed up for public comments.
The only other item discussed was a thank-you letter from Judge Kevin White to city road work crews who re-striped next to Quitman City Hall. The mayor read the letter, which thanked staff for “a job well done.”
