Kelley Robinson Price has announced her candidacy for re-election as Wood County clerk.

Price is a 1987 graduate of Quitman High School and received her associates degree in science from Connor’s State College in Warner, Okla.

She was employed by the Wood County clerk’s office in 2001 by County Clerk Brenda Taylor and served as chief deputy until Taylor retired in 2010.

Serving her fourth term, Price has served as the County and District Clerk Association’s Region VI director and was chosen by her region as a nominee for County Clerk of the Year; she has also served on the nominating committee for the association as well as education committee. Price has been awarded numerous Exemplary Five Star Designation Awards, as the local registrar, by the State Registrar of the Texas Department of State Health Services. She also received her Master Registrar Certification presented by Texas Vital Statistics and Department of State Health Services in Austin.

Price served four years on the Wood County Child Welfare and Protection Board as the welfare board’s secretary/treasurer and was active in the needs of Wood County foster children.

She has completed a records project digitizing all official public records and has made them available online so the public can view them from the comfort of their home or office, integrated an electronic document filing system, known as E-Recording, as well as a new self-service platform where all recorded documents can be searched and allows the public to register for a free fraud alert notification for documents that are recorded in Wood County. This site can be viewed at www.mywoodcounty.com under the county clerk tab.

“I have always felt that the county clerk’s office is the hub of county government being that our doors are open to the public for research, filing and the source of all records that are maintained through this office; from real property records, birth, death, marriage, criminal, civil, probate, livestock marks and brands, DD-214’s, financial reporting, records management and retention, commissioner court proceedings, as ex-officio of the commissioner’s court and more,“ Price said. “I have been blessed with a wonderful staff that knows how very important it is to me that my office serves the public in a helpful and friendly atmosphere. It is my priority to maintain Wood County’s records to the best of my ability ensuring the preservation of all records for future generations, as this is the history of our county.”

Price is the daughter of the late Glenn Robinson and the late June Robinson, former Wood County treasurer. She has two daughters Lindsey Price and Cassidy Alcorn, but her pride and joy are her grandchildren: Jackalyn, Carlee, Braxton,  Harlee, Riggin and Huxtyn.
